Urea formaldehyde (UF) is a cost-powerful thermosetting resin that is commonly used in the wood solution industry. In the laboratory, urea formaldehyde resins are ready by treating urea with formaldehyde in an alkaline or neutral medium to create dimethylol urea, which then undergoes polycondensation, a chemical approach that final results in a polymer, when heated in an acidic medium.
